Time to give Thanks

A year ago my dad almost died. Several times. He had stage four lymphoma, was taking chemo and suffering horrendous side effects. Now he's in remission and has been so since the first of the year. I am very thankful that he was here for another birthday this summer, another Thanksgiving and another Christmas.

That's what I'm most thankful for this year. I'd like to hear what's number one on your Thanksgiving list this year.

I'm thankful that I have my mom here to share the holidays with and just the normal everyday things. She moved up here two years ago and it has been really nice. We are closer than we have ever been. Our reading has done that. We love alot of the same books. For the first 13 years I lived up here with just my husband and son, I'd only seen my mom maybe 6 times in those 13 years. She lived on the west coast. But now I see her almost everyday! And I am very thankful for that :).

I'm thankful that my husband only broke his wrist and not his head when he fell off that ladder several weeks ago. I'm thankful I have a house solidly under me when so many people in my city got hit with those upside-down mortgages. I'm thankful I can be here with my family and keep in touch with those out of town via phone and email. I'm thankful for my wacky friends who think sitting around discussing Dr. Who and True Blood is the best fun ever. I'm thankful for a lot of things, actually. Good post, Cindy.

I'm thankful for the enduring love of a good man. For our two beautiful daughters. For parents still living that I can call every day, even though we no longer live in the same town. I'm thankful for my silly little dogs and for the joy of writing full time.

I'm thankful God decided to make this world so unnecessarily beautiful. And I'm thankful I've been able to see so much of it.

I don't have one big thing to be thankful for but lots of things in my world that I am very thankful for. I'm thankful that I have a wonderful husband and a large wacky family that actually likes to hang out together. I'm thankful that none of my friends have been seriously hurt or killed while fighting in the war on terrorism this year. I'm thankful for my customers at Loveville Post Office who make my day wonderful. I'm thankful that even though I'm swimming in debt, I'm still swimming and the shore is in sight. I'm thankful for NOR and that they saw something in my writing to offer me the opportunity to write reviews. Every day I find something more to be thankful for.

All your thankful comments are making me smile. I'll add more things that I'm thankful for. My wonderful husband, my two awesome sons and their beautiful girlfriends, both my parents, my extended family, my pets, (Achilles, quit chewing the Christmas garland on the stairs) and the best friends in the world.

and I'll add the internet which allows us all the chance to get to know each other better.
